How your personal and health information is collected, used, and stored at Aluna Rise.
Aluna Rise is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information is collected when you use this website or become a client, how that information is handled, and your rights over it.
Aluna Rise is a sole-trader Reiki practice operated by Annemarije Bakker in Manly, on Sydney's Northern Beaches. In this policy, "I", "me", and "Aluna Rise" mean the same thing. "You" means anyone who visits this website, sends a message through it, or becomes a client.
When you use this website or become a client, I may collect the following:
Through the contact form on this website: your name, email address, the topic of your enquiry, and the message you write.
When you book a session: through Fresha (my booking platform) I receive your name, email address, phone number, and the service you book. Payment information is handled directly by Fresha and Stripe; I never see or store your card details.
During your first session: through the intake form, I collect information about your health history, current medications, injuries, allergies, pregnancy status if applicable, and the reason you're seeking a session. This is health information and is treated with extra care under Australian privacy law.
Session notes: brief handwritten or typed notes I may keep about the session and any relevant follow-up information.
I use the information collected only for the following purposes:
I do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any other commercial purpose.
Contact form submissions are received through Netlify Forms and stored in Netlify's secure dashboard, and also forwarded to my email inbox.
Booking data is stored within Fresha's secure platform.
Session intake forms and session notes are stored securely, either as physical paper records in a locked location, or as digital files in an encrypted, password-protected system.
I keep client records for as long as you remain an active client, and for a period of seven years after your last session (in line with Australian record-keeping guidance for health-related services).
I do not share your information with third parties, other than the platforms I use to run the practice: Netlify (contact form), Fresha and Stripe (bookings and payments), and my email provider (Outlook).
I will not sell, rent, or trade your information under any circumstances.
The only situations in which I might disclose your information without your explicit permission are:
This website uses minimal cookies. It does not run any advertising trackers or third-party analytics beyond what Netlify uses for basic site functionality. If I add analytics in the future (such as a privacy-respecting tool like Plausible), this policy will be updated.

I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the bottom will reflect any changes. Significant changes will also be communicated to existing clients.
