A Holy Fire Reiki II practitioner in Manly, on Sydney's Northern Beaches, holding grounded space for your healing, by way of a long detour through the corporate world.
When I first moved to Australia, over 14 years ago, I worked on a farm. There was a duck with a swelling on his cheek. He'd waddle over, settle himself by my feet, and rest his swollen cheek right next to my hand. Each time, my palm would get warm and tingle, a soft electric hum. He'd close his eyes and just sit there, breathing.
After a couple of weeks of those visits, the swelling on his cheek had gone. I didn't know what to call any of it then. But that little duck is the reason I trained in Reiki the following year, in the Blue Mountains. Holy Fire I, then later Holy Fire II.
I'd had a curiosity about energy and healing for as long as I can remember, partly out of necessity. I grew up with severe allergies and several near-death experiences, and when conventional medicine alone wasn't enough, my mum and I had to look further. We explored what we could find together, and what I learned in those years has stayed with me: the best healing isn't either-or. It works alongside the medical system, attending to the physical body, the mind, and the spirit together.
But I followed the conventional path professionally. I built a career in financial services. I loved the people I worked with, but the work itself never quite landed in me. I was good at it, successful even, and that, in a way, made it harder to leave. Golden handcuffs are still handcuffs.
A challenging chapter in my personal life made the answer obvious. I quit the stressful corporate job and gave myself permission to focus on my own healing, and to figure out what I actually wanted to do with this life.
What kept rising was a clear thread: it had to involve helping people. So I returned to Reiki, properly this time. I did Reiki II, started practicing on friends, then quietly began offering it to others. The feedback moved me.
Alongside Reiki, I'm also studying Kinesiology and currently helping a holistic wellbeing startup as their COO. The business side of my brain hasn't disappeared. It's just been redirected toward something that feels more like service.
Aluna carries three meanings I love. It speaks to descent: the journey back into your body, back to your authentic self. It also points to the invisible spiritual reality that lives underneath ordinary perception, the consciousness beneath the noise. And it's rooted in alumna: to be fostered, nourished, held. That's exactly what I want every person who comes to me to feel.
Rise is what comes after. The descent is the work; the rising is the gift. Steadier. Truer. More yours.
Right now, Aluna Rise is one-on-one Reiki sessions in Manly. But the vision is wider than that. I'm building toward healing circles: quiet evenings where people come together to share, hold, and heal each other. Skill-sharing the way it used to happen, before everything became a transaction.
Over time I'd like to weave in more: events, other modalities, a small community of people committed to coming home to themselves. The duck started something. I'm still following it.
To leave a session feeling grounded, lighter, more spacious. To have somewhere soft to release what you've been carrying. To remember that the wisdom you're looking for already lives inside you. Sometimes it just needs the right kind of quiet to surface.
That's what I'm here for.
